“I was helping Louise Wilson with some last-minute prep for the CSM graduate show in 2013. The venue was a whirlwind of activity, and her voice cut through the noise as she began yelling my name. It took her fourth or fifth shout to finally get my attention.
I literally galloped over to her, trying to make up for my delay. She looked at me, dead serious, and with her trademark bluntness asked, “Did you change your name for Hollywood?”
It was a completely unexpected question, but in that chaotic and memorable moment, the decision was made. That’s when I decided to go with Lars Lala.”
